BARK (LARC - 60)

Lighter Amphibious Re-supply Cargo

On a recent visit to Portsmouth I saw from the motorway 2 LARC's as big as houses sitting on waste land. After a little fact finding mission I managed to get up-close and personal with these brutes. After a little struggle I managed to get aboard one of these monsters and the pictures below are the results. I must tell you that unless you have actually seen these vehicles and stood on one you can not appreciate their size. Although they have been sitting for a time and the local kids have had a go they are in a rather complete condition. Unfortunately it looks like they may not be there much longer and if not saved will be going to the scrap yard heaven.

The Stern/Rear of the second LARC

The drivers position situated at the Stern meant that you could not see where you were going.

Looking Aft from the Bow. That Cargo bay can accommodate a tank or 200 men.
