AVRE:

This vehicle seen at Beltring 2003 was originally a 105mm armed
gun tank and was converted to a ARVE; as a gun tank it was the first Centurion
to enter Egypt during the Suez crisis and as a ARVE it was the first tank into
Iraq during the first Gulf war. It was restored as part of a TV program. The
vehicle is fitted with mock up ERA blocks made from sheet metal to represent how
it looked during the Gulf war .

Vehicle on display at the Cobbaton Combat Collection was deployed to Saudi
Arabia during the first Gulf War and whilst being unloaded, broke its lifting
hooks and fell into the harbour.
